Improve existing articles
Add images
As the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words. Adding an relevant image can further improve the article. You can find articles that have been requested to be enhanced with an image here. You need to upload an image before you can add it to an article. You need to include the image's source and licensing. If the article has an image request tag, remember to remove it once you have added the image.
Merge articles
Some articles have different titles but talk about the same topic. When we find them, we tag them to be merged, in hopes someone will combine them into one article. You should initiate a discussion with other users to decide on the article title to use. If you use either, remove all text from the other article and redirect it to the merged page. If you are using a completely new title, remove text from both articles and redirect them to the new page. Remember remove the merge tags when you have finished merging the articles.
Add references
Some articles were created without proper source citation. Since anyone can create an article on MechaBay, reference sources are important in determining the validity of the articles.
Correct redirection
Sometimes, an article redirects to another article, which in turn redirects to yet another article. Users will have to click through a few pages instead of smoothly being redirected. In order to prevent this, we try to eliminate double redirects. All redirected articles should lead directly to the article instead of another redirect.
Categorize articles
Categories assist in easy navigation by grouping similar topics together. You can find a list of articles in need of categorization here.
Create new articles
Wanted articles
Many articles reference to pages that have not been created yet. Excessive links to non-existent articles make our articles less useful to our users, because much of the related information is unavailable. Some topics are referenced by a great many articles but do not have an article created about them. It is helpful to create new articles to fill in the gaps of these articles to make MechaBay a more comprehensive mecha encyclopedia.
Requested articles
Users sometimes request the creation of a particular article.
Incomplete articles
Some articles are merely placeholders that need to be expanded on to make them a complete article. Note that short pages that are already complete should not be listed as stubs.
